On February 2nd, 2007 we said good bye to Westleigh. Wes shared his life with Lisa, our president and founder of Illinois Birddog Rescue. He introduced Lisa to the wonderful world of birddogs. He was a true embassador to the breed - loyal, loving, friendly, joyful, always ready to go. He put his entire heart into whatever he was doing, whether it was agility, field work, or lounging on the couch. Everyone who knew or met Wes loved him dearly. He had many friends and brought many people together. Most of all, Wes was Lisa's beloved companion and her inspiration for starting Illinois Birddog Rescue.

To keep wes's spirit alive within IBR, we have started the Westleigh Memorial Fund. The fund will be used to assist with medical costs of the sick and injured dogs in our rescue. Donations are being accepted via the Paypal link below.

Please check out our Donation Blog to see Wes' memorials and fund contributors.
We'll miss you Wubbies!
Most of our rescues cost us between $300 and $500 in medical and other expenses. We rely solely on adoption fees and donations to help save the dogs. Any donations, no matter the amount, are sincerely appreciated! For your convenience, we accept Paypal donations to ebay@illinoisbirddogrescue.org or you may click directly on the link below. Donations are also accepted via mail to Illinois Birddog Rescue, P.O. Box 364, Wood Dale, IL 60191.
Be sure to check out our Foster Care Program Informational Document and our Foster Home Blog to get the inside scoop on our foster homes.
If you would like to volunteer to assist with a transport, please email Lisa at illinoisbirddogrescue@luckypets.net.
Donations of collars, leashes, toys and crates are much appreciated by the foster homes.
As spring time rolls around, the dogs will be in need of heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. Donations of Frontline, Heargaurd, or any similar products are sincerely appreciated!
Please contact Lisa at illinoisbirddogrescue@luckypets.net for more information.
